The Language House Limited is a ‘Data Controller’ as recognised by the current Data Protection legislation and is registered with the Information Commissioner in the Isle of Man under Registration Number R001687.

PROCESSING INFORMATION FAIRLY AND LAWFULLY
The Language House Limited processes your personal data only where:
- A contract has been entered into that allows us to; or
- You have given your explicit consent; or
- We are required to by our Regulators or Legal Authorities.

WHAT DATA DO WE COLLECT?
The Language House Limited will only collect personal data that is essential to administer the products or services that you have asked us to provide and to comply with regulatory and statutory requirements. The data that we collect may include:
- Full name, date of birth, age, national insurance number and/or other governmental identification numbers;
- Personal and/or business contact details, including address, telephone numbers and email addresses;
- Demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests;
- Other information relevant to customer documents and contracts.
WHY IS YOUR DATA PROCESSED?
The Language House Limited collects the above personal data for the purpose of:
- Translation of corporate and personal documents from any language into any language.
WHERE WE PROCESS AND STORE YOUR DATA
Your data will be processed and held securely in physical or electronic format within the offices and IT systems of The Language House Limited in the Isle of Man.
We may also make your personal data available to third parties who are providing relevant services for one of the above data processing purposes, such as professional translators, etc.
We may be required to share your data with external providers outside of the Isle of Man or European Economic Area (“EEA”).
Your personal data may also be released to other external parties if authorised by you, or as required or permitted by law, or to comply with court orders and requests from a regulator.
OUR BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR DATA
The processing of your personal data is necessary in order for us to provide our services.
For the purposes set out above, you expressly consent to the processing (including the disclosures and transfers described above) of your personal data by The Language House Limited or third parties as set out above.
RETAINING INFORMATION
We will only retain your personal information during the lifetime of our business relationship with you plus a period of retention of 6 months.
The Language House Limited has in place a formal retention policy for the personal data information that we hold. All personal data held past these specified retention periods will be destroyed in accordance with this policy.
YOUR RIGHTS
The Language House Limited will, upon request provide you with the following information:
- What personal data we hold about you;
- The purposes of the processing;
- The recipients to whom the personal date has been disclosed; and
- How long we intend to store your personal date; and
- Any other information permitted under the current legislation.
If you believe that we hold any incomplete or inaccurate data about you, please contact us immediately to request us to correct and/or complete the information we hold for you. You also have the right to request erasure of your personal data or to restrict processing in accordance with the data protection laws, providing that there is not a legal reason for us to retain it or process it.

LODGING A COMPLAINT
The Language House Limited only processes your personal information in compliance with this privacy notice and in accordance with the relevant data protection laws. If, however, you wish to raise a complaint regarding the processing of your personal data or are unsatisfied with how we have handled your information, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
